Côte d'Ivoire, a fabulous destination...
The Côte d'Ivoire has 520km of coastline: beaches of fine sand, coconut trees, creeks, cliffs, lagunas to bathe in, you can surf, go sport fishing, do nautical sports, go windsurfing. The cities Grand-Bassam, Assinie or Sassandra are the main tourist seaside destinations. Furthermore, there are famous cities such as San Pedro with the luxuriously soft beach Monogaga and Grand-Béréby which owes its popularity to the famous "Baie des Sirenes".
The Côte d’Ivoire is advances at its own pace. With its numerous national parks and almost 300 natural reserves offering a large variety of fauna and beautiful landscapes from north to south, the Côte d'Ivoire offers high standard ecotourism. The sites and attractions offered by Ivorian villages make this beautiful country so interesting and attractive. Meanwhile the sacredness makes their development and their provision to a big audience very delicate.
In this spirit, the Côte d'Ivoire offers traditional tourism that can easily be completed with cultural tourism. The Ivorian population is highly diverse – just like a mosaic. More than 60 ethnicities representing as many beliefs, languages, traditions and craftsmanship. The Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Paix is in Yamoussoukro, the capital. The north, predominantly Muslim, awaits with many beautiful centuries-old Mosques.
The Côte d’Ivoire is also a vital economic artery of West Africa. As such, fully equipped centres and complexes are at ready to welcome anyone arriving for business purposes (conferences, conventions, seminars...). The two main cities are Abidjan (economic capital) and Yamoussoukro (political capital). For example, the luxurious Sofitel, Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan is located right in the heart of the Cocody district. It houses a prestigious room with more than 1650 seats and is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies.
The Côte d’Ivoire accommodates several international companies as well as International Organisations such as the World Bank, the Community of West African States, the United Nations Foundation, Children of Africa, Nestlé, Novartis or Samsung.
