12TH SESSION OF THE CONFERENCE OF STATES PARTIES TO THE UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION AGAINST TRANSNATIONAL ORGANIZED CRIME : A panel organized by Côte d’Ivoire on the sidelines of the Conference.

On the sidelines of the COP 12 conference, a panel was organized this Tuesday, October 15 by the Permanent Representation of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations in Vienna with the theme: "Fight against polycriminal organized criminal groups in West Africa: the role of national strategies against organized crime", the panel was co-organized by the Permanent Missions of Germany, Belgium, France, Ghana, Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as well as the Global Programme for the Implementation of the Organized Crime Convention (GLOTOC).
The event was opened by H.E. Mr. Yacouba Cissé, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations (Vienna) and Ms. Riikka Puttonen, Head of the GLOTOC Global Programme, and moderated by Ms. Marion Ehalt, Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Specialist, and Mr. Adrien Caumes, Associate Expert in Legal Affairs. The panelists came from Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Ghana, they shared their respective countries' strategies to combat cross-border crime.
Below is the list of panelists:
• Mr. Kouma Yao Ronsard, Secretary General of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the Fight against Drugs of Côte d'Ivoire;
• Ms. Nana Ama Prempeh, Prosecutor, Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice of Ghana;
• Mr. Moctar Sow, Expert supporting the process of developing the national strategy in Senegal.
